Travel Flight Options to Lafayette

travel flight options to Lafayette, LA

Flight Details

We're so excited you're joining us for the Heal the Healer: ICST Sandtray Therapy Retreat & Training. For flights, you can fly into the following nearby airports.

Just a cool note, we are only 2.5 hours from New Orleans (N.O.), Louisiana. And we are 3.5 hours from Houston, Texas.

My Recommendation for Flights

My favorite airport is our local Lafayette airport. Why?

It's small with 3 terminals, so less lines, less time, less stress. Traffic is quick, it only takes 10 minutes to drive to the Lafayette airport. It's usually recommended to get to the airport about 2 hours before your flight.

Travel Tip

Take this tip from me after traveling these roads all my life! Traveling through these large cities (Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Houston) can take longer with traffic, please leave extra travel time.

For example, it can take up to 1.5 hours to get to Baton Rouge. Even though it's 1 hour from our location, sometimes traffic crossing two busy bridges takes longer.

I always travel with Google Maps or Waze to give you alternate routes, just in case.  Because otherwise you could be stuck in traffic accidents and it could double your time!

Dates of Training

Week 1: July 21-25, 2021
Meet in person for levels 1 & 2.

In between summer trainings, we will be meeting online & you will get 15 Case Consultation sessions on zoom. Can't wait to see you in small groups over 11 months!

Week 2: July 27-31, 2022
Meet in person for levels 3 & 4.

How Long is the Stay?

It depends on your plans. You can always come just for the weekend of the training, or you can make it a mini-vaca and stay somewhere fun for a few days!

There are so many fun things to do in Lafayette, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Houston.

So, in the next email, I'll send you more details about fun things to do!

Because you may want to book your flights with a few extra days in there to have fun!

Do you need a quick flight for just the training?

Then I'd recommend booking your flights July 20-July 26, 2021.

Of course, you can always extend your travels and enjoy New Orleans, Louisiana, or Houston!

When to book flights

How far ahead to purchase?

The best time to book flights is about 8-12 weeks before the event.

But in the summer, I recommend booking earlier because summer flights book fast.

So, I'd recommend booking 2-4 months before the event.

Tuesdays are the cheapest day to buy tickets, Wednesdays are the second cheapest day.

Flying in on a Tuesday is a great time!

If you are staying a few extra days for fun, play with the dates to get a cheaper flight.

Tuesdays to Thursdays are good days to fly in and out, they're the cheapest.

Did you know those little toy airplanes in the gift shop make great miniatures for Sandtray fun?
